In remembrance of the 60th anniversary of our catastrophic bombing of Hiroshima, The Crane Project will be travelling Colorado's Uranium Trail August 5-6, calling attention to our region's role in the nuclear industry, past, present and future.  The Crane Project is a grassroots coalition of communities concerned with the environmental, social and health consequences of nuclear warfare and nuclear energy.

Uranium Trail Peace Caravan August 5-6

Join The Crane Project on its journey across Colorado's Uranium Trail, visiting the state's most notorious sites for uranium mining & processing and calling for an end to the violence.  Whether you participate in the entire caravan or just a section of it, you'll have the chance to hear from the people whose health and welfare have been put at risk by this industry, and to stand side by side and say NO to the social and environmental destruction of nuclear energy and nuclear warfare.  To register for the caravan and find more details, visit our Caravan page.

The Uranium Trail Peace Caravan comes to Grand Junction!

August 5th @ 12:00pm
Department of Energy
2597 B 3/4 Road in Orchard Mesa

As the Uranium Trail Peace Caravan rolls through Grand Junction, we'll visit one of Colorado's most significant nuclear sites, the Grand Junction office of the Department of Energy (DOE).  Much of the uranium used to create nuclear weapons in the 1950's was processed at this DOE site, contaminating the Gunnison River with radioactivity.

Join us to protest the destruction of our environment, the manipulation of our society, and the risk to our health posed by uranium, nuclear energy & warfare, and the Grand Junction DOE site!

Meet Friday, August 5th at noon at the DOE, 2597 B 3/4 Road in Orchard Mesa for a demonstration.  From there the Caravan will continue on to our next stop in Montrose.
